Key takeaways
- AccuLynx has no size screen, so you count the rows of a jobs report from its pre-built library, or a developer reads the count field in the Get Jobs and Get Contacts API responses.
- API keys are for AccuLynx customers only and are created on the API keys page in your account; the jobs listing returns at most 25 records per page.
- Reports can be scheduled for email delivery with the recipients, file format, frequency, day and time you choose, but photos and documents are not part of report files.
- You don't need to export anything to apply: have your record count, years of history and number of users ready, and the data vendor anonymizes the records before any AI lab sees them.
01
What is AccuLynx data, and why do AI labs and data vendors buy it?
The short answer
AccuLynx data is the record of a roofing or exterior contractor's jobs in AccuLynx, the software roofers use to track a customer from first lead through the sale, the installation, the insurance paperwork and the final invoice. AI labs (companies that build and train AI models) and data vendors (companies that anonymize business records and package them for those labs) buy a copy because each AccuLynx job moves through a fixed series of stages that shows how roofing work is won, lost and finished.
What an AccuLynx account records
AccuLynx organizes work as jobs and the contacts attached to them. Each job passes through milestones, the named stages of a sale, which run from lead to prospect, approved, completed, invoiced and closed. The account records the lead source (where the customer first came from) and the reason a lead was marked dead when it never turned into work.
Alongside the jobs sit permits, supplements (extra amounts an insurance company agrees to pay beyond its first estimate), material orders, accounts receivable (money customers still owe), photos and documents.
Why a roofing job teaches an AI model something
An AI model learns by studying a very large number of examples and finding the patterns in them, and those examples are called training data. A lead that ended as dead shows what did not work, and a job that reached closed shows the whole path to a paid roof. Years of both show how roofing and exterior jobs get won, lost and finished.
AI labs now also want to train AI agents, software that carries out a job step by step, and an agent learns a job from records of that job being done. The full mechanism is in AI training data: why AI companies want your company's data.
How AccuLynx fits into a dataset
AccuLynx is usually one of several apps in a company's dataset, next to email, accounting and customer records. Companies are paid $100K to $2M or more per dataset, according to micro1, the data vendor we typically refer companies to. The price covers the whole dataset, not each app on its own, and what your data is worth explains what moves it.
02
Where does AccuLynx show how much data you have?
The short answer
AccuLynx has no screen that shows the total size of your data. You can run a jobs report from its library of pre-built reports and count the rows, or a developer can call the AccuLynx API, whose job and contact listings each report an exact count of all matching items. API keys are for AccuLynx customers only.
Route one: count the rows in a report
AccuLynx sells a reporting package called ReportsPlus, which includes a library of pre-built reports covering job milestones, permits, supplements, accounts receivable, materials, dead leads and estimates. The steps below use it.
- Open the reports area in AccuLynx and choose a jobs report from the pre-built library.
- Set the dates to cover your whole history. If you are unsure which report lists every job, ask AccuLynx support.
- Count the rows on screen, or schedule the report to be emailed to you as a file and count the rows there.
Route two: read the exact count from the API
An API (application programming interface) is a way for one program to ask another for data directly. AccuLynx's Get Jobs and Get Contacts listings return a count field that holds the total number of items matching the request, so a developer can read your totals without downloading every record.
- Sign in to AccuLynx and open the API keys page at my.acculynx.com/apikeys. Create a key and give it a name.
- A developer sends a request to
https://api.acculynx.com/api/v2/jobswith the key as a Bearer token, using a smallpageSize. - The developer reads
countfrom the response, then repeats the request for/contacts.
Which plans and roles you need
According to AccuLynx, only its own customers can hold API keys, which you create and manage on the API keys page of your account. Its public pages do not say which user roles can run the full report library or create keys, or which plans include ReportsPlus, so ask AccuLynx support before you plan around either.
| Route | Where | What it returns |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-built report | Reports area, ReportsPlus library | Rows you can count, or a scheduled file |
| Get Jobs and Get Contacts | API keys page, then the API | A count of all items for each listing |
03
What should you know about your AccuLynx data before you apply?
The short answer
Have three facts ready: how many records your account holds, how many years it covers and how many people have logins. They go into the data manifest, the written summary of which apps hold your records, how many years each covers and roughly how much. You don't need to run an export to find them.
The record count
The record count is the number of jobs plus the number of contacts, taken from a report or from the API's count field. Say which of the two you used.
The years of history
Use the created date of your oldest job. The Get Jobs listing returns jobs sorted by created date from oldest to newest unless a developer asks for another order, so its first record is normally the oldest job.
The number of seats
A seat is one person with their own login. Count the AccuLynx users on your subscription, including office staff, sales representatives and production crews who sign in.
What you don't need to do first
You don't need to export anything to apply, and you don't need to clean or scrub records. The data vendor anonymizes the records before anyone else sees them, and nothing moves until a lawyer-reviewed license is signed. The application, the intro call and each later step are laid out in how to sell your company's data.
04
How do you export your full AccuLynx history?
The short answer
You export the history in one of two ways. Set the jobs report, plus any contact, estimate or accounts receivable report your office uses, to arrive by email as files, or have a developer page through the Get Jobs and Get Contacts API listings. Photos and documents are not part of either, and AccuLynx's public documentation does not describe a bulk download for them.
Route one: scheduled reports
Any report can be set to arrive by email automatically, and you choose the recipients, the file format, the frequency, and the day and time, as the ReportsPlus page describes.
- Open each report you want, starting with the jobs report and adding any contact, estimate or accounts receivable report your office relies on.
- Choose the columns you need, because a report carries only the columns you choose.
- Schedule the report for email delivery and pick the recipients, file format, frequency, day and time.
- Save the files when they arrive.
Route two: the API, for full records
This route needs a developer, and AccuLynx does not teach how to use its API: it tells customers to work with their own developer. The key is created and named on the API keys page, as AccuLynx's getting started page explains.
- Create and name a key at my.acculynx.com/apikeys.
- Call
GET /jobsonhttps://api.acculynx.com/api/v2with the key as a Bearer token. The listing returns at most 25 jobs per page, set bypageSize, and starts wherepageStartIndexsays. - Raise
pageStartIndexby the page size on each request, until the number of records retrieved reaches thecountfield. - Do the same for
GET /contacts.
A request that asks for a position beyond the data returns a 416 error, which tells the developer to check count. For a very large account, the jobs listing also accepts startDate and endDate, so the history can be pulled one period at a time. AccuLynx's rate limits allow 10 requests per second per key.
What the exports leave out
Reports and the job listing carry job fields, not files. The photos and documents attached to each job are not part of report files, so ask AccuLynx support how to get them in bulk.

05
What stays private when AccuLynx data is licensed?
The short answer
The company decides which records are shared, and it can leave insurance claim details and payment data out of whatever it approves for export. The data vendor replaces names and other personal details with consistent stand-ins before an AI lab sees anything. The company keeps ownership of its AccuLynx data, and the license covers defined records for a defined use.
You choose what is in scope
A company can leave insurance claim details and payment data out of the reports it approves for export, and it can share jobs while holding contacts back. The data vendor also deletes records too sensitive to clean safely instead of anonymizing them.
Names are replaced before a lab sees them
Anonymization means replacing every detail that identifies a person or a place, such as a name, a phone number or an address, with a stand-in that is the same every time it appears. The job still reads in order, so a lab can learn from it, but it no longer says who the homeowner is or where they live. The diagram below shows one job before and after.
The method, including what is deleted outright and how you review samples, is in how company data is anonymized for AI training.
Ownership and payment
Licensing gives the buyer limited rights to a copy, while the company keeps ownership of the originals. The terms that matter, such as exclusivity, permitted use and deletion, are covered in data licensing. micro1 pays in full within 30 days of accepting the data, usually as a single payment.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can AccuLynx reports be sent to us on a schedule?
Yes. When you set up the schedule, AccuLynx asks who should receive the email, which file format to use, how often to send it and on which day and at what time.
Who can get an AccuLynx API key?
AccuLynx customers. AccuLynx says its API keys are for customers only, and you create and name one on the API keys page inside your account. Ask AccuLynx support which user roles can create keys.
Are photos included in AccuLynx exports?
No. What reports and the job listing hand back are job fields rather than files, so ask AccuLynx support how to get photos and documents in bulk.
How can we find out exactly how many jobs we have in AccuLynx?
Ask a developer to call the Get Jobs listing with the API key from your account. Every response includes a count field with the total number of jobs matching the request, and Get Contacts does the same for contacts.
How many records does the AccuLynx API return per request?
The jobs listing returns up to 25 records per page, and a developer moves through the history by raising pageStartIndex. Filtering by start and end date splits a large account into smaller pulls.
Do we need to export AccuLynx before we apply?
No. The application takes about two minutes and shares no data. You only need your approximate job and contact count, your years of history and your number of users for the intro call, and a report or the API count gives you the first. The full export is needed later, when the records are transferred after you sign the license.
Can we leave out insurance claim details?
Yes. The company approves what is exported, and insurance claim details and payment data can stay out of it.
What is AccuLynx data worth to AI labs and data vendors?
AccuLynx history is priced as part of a whole dataset rather than on its own. Companies are paid $100K to $2M or more per dataset, according to micro1, and the price depends on the years of history and how completely the records show each job from the lead to the final invoice. What your data is worth explains the factors.
Bottom line
Know what is in AccuLynx, then see what it is worth
You don't need to export anything to apply. Apply in two minutes, describe your records on the intro call, and micro1, the data vendor we typically refer companies to, prices the whole dataset and sends an offer 1–2 days later.
